For the past two days it has been rainy and grey, but I don't mind at all cause it's better than snow! It's gonna make everything green again! This picture was from my drive in this morning. :)I have gone through the morning and part of last night thinking that today is Wednesday already. I have no idea why, but maybe I just want this week to fast forward. It is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous this weekend and I can't wait! Kirk has the weekend off and we have our upgrade appointment with the builder. Then we will be going out window shopping for furnature and appliances. Saturday is also our anniversary, so we'll be going out for a nice dinner. Sunday we have another appointment with the builder to choose all our colours. That is going to be a fun day as well! We are getting closer to having our own place finally!
We skipped out on the gym last night. Kirk and I were both feeling grumpy and really didn't want to go back out to town, so we just stayed in and relaxed. Tonight I'll try to drag my butt back into the gym, or maybe I'll just skip day 1 of the workout and get back on track tomorrow night with a regular day 2 and do cardio tonight. Who knows.... I've just felt a bit pre-occupied thinking about the house and different layouts we can do with the kitchen. We're constantly looking through magazines and websites at kitchens. So many ideas!
Have a great ... TUESDAY ... everyone! Yes, it's only Tuesday! ;)

Yay! It sounds like a great weekend ahead. :) Just think of how good you will feel after your workouts. I know, I know. Sometimes it takes so much just to do it. You are doing great! :) I'm so excited about your new home. When is it supposed to be ready for you?
ReplyDeleteAs far as your kitchen design- make sure that it is functional first. Keep in mind where doors will open (cabinets, appliances, etc). Keep lighting in mind, too. Natural light sources- where windows are or aren't and then light fixtures. It can make a huge difference in how big or small it feels as well as making it easier to use! Also remember the triangle rule. Optimally the sink, refrigerator and stove will be at each end of a "triangle". This gives you the most working space in the kitchen. Sometimes its not possible, but its optimal. ;) Okay, enough of my blabbering. You may even already know this! :) Have a great week!

Thanks so much for your ideas Hillary!! This is great! We get the house in early September but have to decide on our kitchen design this Saturday. I have a big kitchen book that does describe the 'triangle' design, so I have seen the benefits! I think the builder said that she will be bringing in some pictures of what they can do for us to give us some ideas as well. With the standard design plan, it shows the dishwasher right next to the oven which we don't want. It just doesn't seem right to be there... So I'm betting she'll have some alternate layouts for the appliances so we don't have to have a big lump of stainless steel in the middle of our kitchen! lol I'll be bringing in my book, dog-eared with our likes to see what she can do. We don't want to spend a fortune customizing our kitchen!
