Happy Spring and Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Wow, it's been about a week, hasn't it?! I dunno where it went....

Last week we worked out as normal, ate somewhat clean (I think we crashed a few meals) and went along our merry way. Then about Wednesday I decided that I wanted to start a full body workout program and not the split program I have been doing. I unfortunatley did legs on Tuesday and really did them hard, so they were hurting for a few days after. I decided to take a few days off from the gym for my legs to recover and then start fresh with the full body program. Here is where I got the program from. I'm going to try it for about 6 weeks. My plan is just to get some overall functional strength and loose some fat. This workout is meant to spend a short but efficient time in the gym and really work your core. I'm pretty excited to do this as I have never really followed a -set out - program before, I have always just made my own plans. So what is three nights a week for 6 weeks really for me?! Easy peasy!!

I did the first day of the program on Saturday and I think I did well. I didn't do as much weight as I could though just to try everything out. The one leg deadlifts were a bit hard to balance, but they'll get easier. I was able to do only ONE chinup unassisted. I thought I'd be able to do at least 5, so I was disappointed with that, but at least I have something to work for! Before I worked out I did a body fat composition test and my result was 20%. I thought it would be higher than that (maybe 28 - 30%), but I'm happy with that. I'm going to use that test every time so even if it's not accurate, at least it will be consistant. I'll probably check on it about once a month. I don't like basing results on scales because they are deceiving. Yesterday I did the cardio portion of his plan - 30 seconds jumping jacks, 30 seconds mountain climbers and 30 seconds of rest, for 5 waves. It's harder than it sounds!! By the fifth wave of mountain climbers I fell over! I hope I'm doing them right, I think they are where you bend over on all fours and 'climb' with your legs, hopping forward and back in one spot with your hands staying planted.

Tonight I'm supposed to do day two of the plan, but IT'S MY DADDY'S BIRTHDAY!!! We are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate, so no workout for me! I'll catch up tomorrow. :P I'll try to sneak some pictures tonight so I'll have something to post tomorrow!

Last week we also got the car tinted and it looks awesome! I want to get a nice picture of it to post, but atm the car is dirty. Maybe Kirk will wash it today and send me a picture. :)

Oh and yesterday we bought our first purchase for our house!!! We bought some pots and pans, some mixing bowls, and a knife set! Canadian Tire had a sale and they were all going for great prices! We just couldn't let it pass. The pots and pans set is made by Kitchen Aid and they are REALLY nice with glass lids. The knife set was also from Kitchen Aid. We're going for a theme here... all our appliances are going to be Kitchen Aid as well!!

I hope everyone has a great Monday and I hope my Dad has a WONDERFUL day! We'll be having an awesome dinner later! :P

  1. Sounds like your new workout will be good. :) Mountain climbers are tough! And one chin up sounds good to me! You'll be at 5 in no time. ;)

Hope your Daddy's birthday celebration went well.
